What Are You doing This Sunday?

President Obama, in order to keep the Chinese in good humor, had declined to meet with Dalai Lama a few months back. That has, however, not stopped the Buddhist Monk from appearing in places known and unknown in the USA to propagate his theories and philosophies, but most importantly his peoples' aspirations for freedom from the Chinese. One of his concerns, apart from these, is institutionalized children and their helplessness.

It is a sad state of affairs that many people are unaware of the travails these children go through as a matter of routine. What is sadder is that even those who know of it hardly give a passing thought to the unfortunate situation. The Dalai Lama is a man troubled by his conscience and thinks that people in general can bring about changes in the lives of these hapless children.

Whole Child International, an NGO in Los Angeles is dedicated to provide succor to suffering children around the world Events Calendar. It has arranged a meeting at the Gibson Amphitheatre in which the Dalai Lama will address the audience and try to educate those who are ignorant. The CEO and the founder of this organization, Karen Gordon is all respectful when talking about the Lama.

Says she," We are honored to have His Holiness come to demonstrate his solidarity with our work" She is emphatic of the Lama's compassion working positively with the listeners at the gathering. His wisdom is most likely to rub off on others and quite possibly work as a catalyst to kindle passion in others to act. Objectives that hitherto were unknown could emerge from the meeting and they could be discussed and some viable solutions could be found to existing problems.

The meeting is to take place on Sunday February 20. While folks can choose to be at venues more earthly inclined, which we find perfectly alright, there could be some people driven more by altruistic thoughts. This meeting could be a perfect place for them to be this coming Sunday.
